We all want to make sure that our home is protected and safe while we go for days or for long periods of time. There was no way to know for certain whether something will happen when we leave. The only thing we can do is prepare the house to stay safe, while we’re not there. There are several things we can do in order to provide home security for us. One way is to tell our neighbors that we believe about not being at home. It is important that we were only told neighbors that we have confidence and that we know about being lost.

We must be pretty confident that they will look out for our home and take care of while we’re gone. Tell them to check pets and plants while you’re away as well. This will make it look like someone took them to take care of things. They can also collect mail and newspapers everyday. This will continue to think someone is home to a potential prey. You can also notify the local police department if you would leave for a period of time. Tell them the date you would go and ask them to patrol the house every once in a while. This is good especially if you live in a safe area.

You always want to make sure that doors and windows are always locked when you leave to get anywhere. Do not make it easy for an intruder into your home. Keep things safe and well protected with a good quality lock that will be difficult for anybody to pass. You’ll also want to ensure that everything is safe in the home as well. If you only leave for the day, make sure that the lights die and what if the electricity is turned off as well. If you go for a few days, you may want to change the water from the main house and the hot water heater as well. This will protect your home from unexpected breaks or leaks that may occur at a specific time. You do not want to come home to surprise because of flooding in your home.

Check all the doors in your house that leads to the outside or into the garage. This should be metal or solid wood and at least 1.75 “thick. Ensure the safe and door frames can not be separated easily. Make sure the door into the frame without gaps. Even with a strong lock, the good thief can get into your home if your doors or doorframes weak.
