You want to build up the brick to four high. Once you have the bricks build up all the way around, spread a thin layer of loose gravel inside the bricks. Then, pour about four inches of concrete over the gravel. With the hand level, you want to ensure the brick levels are even. Additionally, using the trowel, you will wipe off excess mortar every two rows. Then, depending on the design you chose, you will continue building the back and sides of the barbecue while the concrete sets.
